Every Friday afternoon between 1.00pm and 3pm all pupils take part for 5 weeks in 6 different "life skill" activities or modules. These are skills that either recap what has been learnt in previous year group or lessons, or they are additional life skills that we feel our children need before they leave Year 6. These are:

Art & Design Technology - portraits, landscapes, ceramics & sculpture work (including visiting local sculptures).

Food Technology - "Ways with Mince", Pastry, Cakes and "Healthy Alternatives to Fast Food". (See Cavendish College Recipes for opportunities to try these at home!).

Outdoor Learning - planting, weeding, harvesting and maintenance. Also constructing bug hotels, observing and cataloguing wildlife etc.

Music - how to compose music, singing and playing instruments.

Social Studies - circle time, orienteering, team games, social skills, safeguarding etc.

Textiles  - cross-stitch, applique, working with wool (including knitting), rag rugs and toys.
