School Meals

We are:

Healthy

Cavendish does not have its own catering kitchen; the meals are brought in every day from Brockwell School.
During lunch-time all pupils (those who eat school dinners and those who bring sandwiches) are rewarded for good table manners and choosing healthy options.

We encourage our pupils to use their knife and fork and we use plates rather than trays to ensure our table manners can be transferred when they get home and in their future experiences.  We also encourage collaboration, making sure that our children sit with pupils from other year groups and become effective communicators.

We also teach pupils about "Being Healthy" in various areas of the curriculum, including the Food Technology module of Cavendish College. Pupils are encouraged to use the skills they are taught in school at home and a range of recipes can be found here.
