Support during the Coronavirus

We understand that this is a challenging time for everybody, and whilst we know you will be looking after the children of Cavendish Junior School brilliantly, you, as parents, will also be worrying about financial difficulties and further problems that we will no doubt encounter later down the line.

As we hear of any information or useful links and guides, we will post them here.  Please feel free to use them, and to contact us if you need any more support.  We will help you as much as we can!

Financial support

  • This guide is really handy in finding out what your rights are in Derbyshire and who you can contact.

  • We are continuing to have a FareShare delivery which provides the school with fresh produce and food that we usually use for Breakfast Club and tuck.  We will send out a ParentMail notification every time we receive one of these deliveries, and you are all welcome to come and collect what you need FOR FREE.
  • As a school, we can offer Food Vouchers.  Please contact school if you are struggling to buy food or you are worrying financially.
  • The latest jobs bulletin for the local area can be found here.

Information on the Coronavirus

This link will take you directly to the Department of Education's publication which details what is happening with schools and what you can do to support this.

This publication is a really good guide to help your child if they are struggling to understand what the Coronavirus is.

NSPCC have produced some excellent guidance on supporting your child with many things such as behaviour management as well as how to cope with the many changes happening. The link can be found here.
