Cavendish Junior School

School Meals

Cavendish does not have its own catering kitchen; the meals are brought in every day from Gilbert Heathcote Nursery & Infant School which is only 0.6 miles away.
During lunch-time all pupils (those who eat school dinners and those who bring sandwiches) are rewarded for good table manners and choosing healthy options.
We also teach pupils about "Being Healthy" in various areas of the curriculum, including the Food Technology module of Cavendish College. Pupils are encouraged to use the skills they are taught in school at home and a range of recipes can be found here.

A healthy, balanced diet is strongly encouraged throughout the day.

In line with School Food Plan legislation, the school makes mid-morning milk available to every child who wants it. The milk is provided free for those pupils who are registered for free school meals.
